Salah gets closer to the Golden boot, becomes the first Liverpool player to score 20 goals for three seasons
Mo Salah scored against Newcastle United in the 3rd minute of the game which took him to his 20th goal in the Premier League. Salah has now scored 29 goals in all competitions and 20 goals in the English Premier League. He has already surpassed his last season’s goal tally which was 19 and yet he has 5 more games to play. Salah is now the first Liverpool player to score 20 Premier League goals in three seasons. Former Reds forwards Robbie Fowler and Luis Suarez achieved the feat twice.
Hary Kane of Spurs is the man on top in the golden boot table with 21 goals in his account. Salah is just one behind and yet the match is in progress. Kane is injured and likely to miss 2 weeks of football, which means Salah can win the Golden boot again this season. Behind him is Bruno Fernandes from the red side of Manchester with 16 goals.
Salah won the Golden boot in his first season with Liverpool in 2017/18 with 32 goals. Later in the 2018/19 season, he was a joint winner with his teammate Sadio Mane, and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with 22 goals each.
