Santos Sacks Manager Paulo Turra Amidst Relegation Battle in Brazilian Serie A

Santos, the Brazilian Serie A giants, have made a surprising decision to sack manager Paulo Turra after only seven games in charge. The club is currently fighting to avoid relegation from the top division.

In an official statement issued on Sunday, Santos announced that not only Turra but also assistant coaches Adir Kirst, Felipe Endres, and Leo Monteiro have been relieved of their duties. The decision was made following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Athletico Paranaense, which left the team in 17th place out of 20 teams in the league standings.

Paulo Turra took over as manager in June, replacing Odair Hellmann, but during his six weeks in charge, the team managed only one win, three draws, and three losses.

As they look to turn things around, the eight-time Brazilian top-flight champions are preparing to face Fortaleza, currently in the 13th position, away in their next league fixture scheduled for the following Sunday.
