SBC Awards 2025: The wait is over. The shortlist for the 12th annual SBC Awards is here. The ceremony will take place at Lisbon’s MEO Arena on Thursday, 18 September, closing out the SBC Summit 2025. in style.

The SBC Awards 2025 celebrate excellence in the global betting and gaming industry, shining a spotlight on the best operators, suppliers, and industry leaders across areas like payments, marketing, and platform innovation.

This year is already one for the history books, with the highest number of nominations ever received across 37 categories. It is a clear sign of the industry’s continued drive to raise the bar.

Record-Breaking Year for Nominations for SBC Awards 2025:

Leading the nominations are Pragmatic Play and Sportradar, each securing seven nods. Not far behind are BetConstruct and Betsson Group with six each. Other notable names, including Bragg Gaming, Campeon Gaming, Novibet, Playtech, and Top Bet, each earned five nominations.

Peter Schmeichel returns:

Football icon Peter Schmeichel, the former Manchester United goalkeeper and UEFA European Championship winner, will return as co-host after a popular appearance in 2024.

New approach to affiliate awards:

For the first time, the SBC Awards will not include dedicated affiliate categories. Instead, affiliates will have their own expanded event, the Affiliate Leaders Awards, on Wednesday, 17 September, at the same venue.

SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark said: “This industry never stands still. New talent, ideas, and technologies are constantly changing the game. The SBC Awards are our way of recognising those who are making a real impact and giving the community a moment to celebrate together.”

Operator highlights:

In the operator categories, Betsson Group stands out with six nominations. TotoGaming has also impressed with four nominations, including Marketing Campaign of the Year and Innovation in Casino & Gaming Entertainment. Kaizen Gaming and Campeón Gaming are both looking to defend their titles in Operator of the Year – Medium and Large.

The Casino Operator of the Year title will be contested by LeoVegas, Bally’s, Codere Online, and Winbet. Meanwhile, 1xBet, EstrelaBet, and Sportsbet.io are among the frontrunners for Sportsbook Operator of the Year.

Employer and responsibility awards:

The Employer of the Year race includes Alea, Flutter Entertainment, Parimatch, and Play’n GO, all hoping to take the crown from reigning champions SOFTSWISS. In Socially Responsible Initiative of the Year, the shortlist features Associação de Mulheres da Indústria do Gaming (AMIG), BGaming, EveryMatrix, and Pay4Fun.

The Leader of the Year award will remain a secret until the ceremony, with nominees and the winner revealed live on the night.

Payments and compliance:

In the payments and compliance categories, Noda and payabl. lead the way with nominations in all three awards: Payment Solution of the Year, Payment Innovation of the Year, and Fraud & Compliance Solution of the Year. Other multiple nominees include MiFinity, Monnet Payments, OKTO, Pay4Fun, Paysecure, and Trustly.

Supplier categories and new additions:

The supplier categories will feature 22 SBC Awards 2025 with newcomers like Aggregator of the Year and Crash Game of the Year. Fast Track and BETBY will aim to retain their crowns in Acquisition & Retention Partner and Esports Supplier of the Year.

The hotly contested Industry Innovation of the Year category features 15 companies, including Delasport, Evolution, Evoplay, iGP, Optimove, and Spotlight Sports Group.

Soft2Bet will aim for repeat wins in Innovation in Casino Entertainment and Innovation in Mobile, while Digitain will look to defend its Sportsbook Supplier of the Year title.

Platform Provider of the Year will be another big battle, with EGT Digital, GiG, GR8 Tech, Sportingtech, and White Hat Gaming all in contention.

Spotlight on rising stars:

The night will also honour the industry’s future talent with four Rising Star awards, which are Rising Star in Casino, Rising Star in Sports Betting, Rising Star in Sports Betting Innovation / Software, and Rising Star in Casino Innovation / Software.
