The SEA Games 2025 is underway in Thailand from 9-20 December. A total of 10 countries from the region are taking part in the sports events.
Bangkok and Chonburi are the host regions for the 33rd edition of the multi-sport event, back to where the regional Games began in 1959.
A total of 13,657 athletes are set to compete across 50 medal sports, ranging from Olympic disciplines to traditional local sports.
Cambodia withdrew their delegation from the SEA Games 2025 due citing “safety concerns”.
Host Thailand are leading the medal tally with 132 gold medals, 79 silvers and 48 bronzes. They have amassed a total of 259 medals so far.
Indonesia occupy the second spot with 44 golds, 56 silvers and 53 bronze medals. They have a combined medal count of 153 medals.
Vietnam is third in the medal standings with a total of 135 medals including 34 golds, 35 silvers and 66 bronzes.
Meanwhile, Brunei Darussalam and Timor-Leste are yet to win a gold medal.

The Southeast Asian Games is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia. The games are under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia.
The SEA Games is one of the five subregional Games of the Olympic Council of Asia, the others being South Asian Games, West Asian Games, East Asian Games, and Central Asian Games.
