Shafali Verma secures the top spot again in ICC Women T20I rankings
Shefali Verma hit 47 off 31 deliveries in the second T20I against South Africa Women
Indian team opener Shafali Verma once again jumped to the top of the ICC Women T20I rankings for batters with an excellent performance against South Africa Women in the first two T20 Internationals games. Shafali scored 47 off 31 balls and climbed to the top of the T20I rankings harts above Australia’s Beth Mooney in the second time of her overall career.
“India opener Shafali Verma is back at the top of the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings after the fine show in the first two matches of the ongoing three-match series against South Africa Women in Lucknow,” said ICC in a statement.
The one other time when Shafali claimed the top ranking was in Australia last year when she played a crucial role in helping India reach the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
South Africa’s Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolwaardt also climbed up the rankings chart after impressive performances in the series. In the charts, Lee went up the three spots to 11th after her match match-winning 45-ball 70.
