Shakib Al Hasan to continue playing Cricket till 2027 but on this condition
Former Captain Of the Bangladesh Shakib-Al Hasan unveiled his desire to continue playing for the country till 2027 if the Bangla Tigers fail to win the Cup in 2023. He said that his main aim is to win the World Cup Trophy and has no plans of getting retired anytime soon.
“In the year 2023, it will be my last World Cup. However, if Bangladesh doesn’t win, I will continue until 2027, I have no plans of retirement as of now. The prospects are open for the time being. When I will feel I’m not enjoying the sport anymore, then I will retire. And until the time I feel I am enjoying, I will continue” Shakib told in an interview with Daraz.
Earlier Shakib performed brilliantly in the 2019 CWC, Where he scored 606 Runs at an Average of 86 with two centuries & five half centuries, He also took 11 Wickets and went on to win ICC Player of the Tournament. However, his team didn’t get a chance to play in the semis as they were out of the league but still Shakib’s performance got him lots of appreciations from absolute legends of the game.
Shakib’s temperament for the game has always been different, he is so calm on the field the reason why he is one of the best all-rounder Bangladesh ever had. If he continues his amazing performance with bat and ball maybe his national team will win the tournament easily, But nonetheless it’s the team which makes you win, one should never think that he can win the match single-handedly.
Shakib is currently preparing himself for the upcoming edition of IPL where he is going to play for the team Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) after being brought at a price of INR 3.2 crores.
