Fast bowler Siddharth Kaul, who played under the captaincy of Virat Kohli in the Under-19 World Cup 2008, has announced his retirement from international cricket. India fast bowler Siddharth Kaul announced his retirement from international cricket. He has played for the country in three ODIs and an equal number of T20 games in 2018-19. Punjab’s fast bowler, who is now 34 years old and played for Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, announced his retirement through social media.

Kaul wrote on ‘X’, ‘Now it is time to end my career in India and announce my retirement.’ Kaul is one of the players whose name was in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup-winning Indian team under coach Chandrakant Pandit. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were also part of this team. However, he has kept the options open for playing in leagues abroad.

He said, ‘I want to thank God for the path made for me, the fans for the endless support, my parents and family for the sacrifices and confidence, especially during injuries and disappointments.’
Kaul said, ‘To my teammates for the dressing room memories and friendship, to the BCCI for fulfilling a young child’s dream of representing India and winning the 2008 Under-19 World Cup and making my T20 International and ODI debut in 2018.’ Kaul played 88 first-class matches for Punjab and took 297 wickets. The right-arm fast bowler took 199 wickets in 111 List A matches and 182 wickets in 145 T20 matches.
Siddharth has been an impressive performer in domestic cricket
Kaul is the highest wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 155 wickets and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 120 wickets. He last played for his state in the Ranji Trophy against Haryana this month.
