Opening Ceremony and Keynote Address
The summit began with a keynote speech by Mr. Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth in Cape Town. He talked about Cape Town’s growing role in Africa’s digital economy, focusing on regulatory improvements and fintech expansion. “Cape Town is no stranger to bold ideas. Growth happens when you play smart,” Vos said, kicking off two days of meaningful conversations.

Over the next two days, experts shared insights on Africa’s gaming, blockchain, and fintech industries, discussing how to navigate the region’s fast-changing business environment. H.E. Dennis Vella also spoke about Malta’s role in supporting business connections between Africa and Europe, reinforcing SiGMA’s global partnerships.
SiGMA Africa Awards and Charity Auction
The SiGMA Africa Awards 2025 recognized leaders in gaming, fintech, and new technologies for their innovative contributions. The event also featured a charity auction to support global projects. The SiGMA Foundation’s efforts include expanding a hospital in Peru and funding initiatives in education, healthcare, and community development.
Networking and Women in Gaming
SiGMA Africa 2025 provided great networking opportunities through dinners, drinks, and a closing party. The summit also focused on women in gaming, with special events organized by Women in Gaming (WiG) to talk about leadership, diversity, and equal opportunities in the industry.
Looking Ahead to BiS SiGMA Americas
As SiGMA Africa 2025 wraps up, attention now turns to BiS SiGMA Americas in São Paulo, Brazil. The event will bring together 18,000 attendees, 600 exhibitors, and 300 speakers for four days of networking and top-tier content at the Transamerica Expo Center.
