Southampton won against Chelsea in the fifth matchweek of the Premier League.
English Premier League side Southampton beat Chelsea FC by 2-1. Ralph Hasenhuttl shocked Thomas Tuchel’s men in the fifth matchweek of the Premier League. Chelsea are now moved to 8th place after this defeat. This defeat was a shock for Chelsea as they didn’t expect this.
Chelsea FC had their second loss in the new season of Premier League. The match was played at St. Mary’s stadium (Southampton FC home stadium) on Wednesday, 31st August. Despite some new signing, Chelsea FC couldn’t play attractive football. English Premier League is starting to get its shape as the games are more interesting now.
Talking about this game, Chelsea had the best chance to win it but Southampton did well to hold the visitors. The first goal was however scored by Chelsea FC. New signing Raheem Sterling was the one who opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Southampton’s midfielder named Romeo Lavia equalised the goal in the 28th minute.
The equaliser gave them confidence and the host scored again and Adam Armstrong scored the second for Southampton FC just before the half time whistle. The goal from Armstrong was the winner.
