Virat Kohli announced via Twitter that he would like to step down as team India’s T20 Captain. This decision will be effective after the upcoming  T20 World Cup. While everybody started guessing what could be the real reason behind such a big call, reports now state that there was a build-up to Kohli’s reaction on Thursday. As a result, there have been mixed reactions to the decision. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly lauded this decision via an official tweet. Firstly, the decision was taken after speaking with Ravi Shastri, Jay Shah, and other match officials. Secondly, Virat will continue to lead team India in Tests and ODI formats. It is to be noted that Virat’s contribution as captain or player in the Indian Cricket Team is lauded by all.

Speculations suggest that the World Test Championship loss and IPL challenges for RCB have resulted in the decision. Virat Kohli also has not been on good terms with the current selection committee and as a result, the captaincy decision came into being. All these unfortunate difficulties, problems, and difficulties have resulted in too much pressure for Kohli.
