Splitgate Arena Reloaded officially launched on December 17, 2025, at 9 AM PT. This release marks a fresh start for the game after a difficult period earlier this year. The title was first launched as Splitgate 2 in July 2025, but strong negative feedback pushed the developers, 1047 Games, to take the game offline and return to beta.
After months of rebuilding and listening to player feedback, the game has now returned in a much better shape as Splitgate Arena Reloaded. Below is a simple and complete look at everything new and improved.
A Return to Classic Arena Gameplay
One of the biggest changes in Splitgate Arena Reloaded is the focus on classic arena shooting. The developers removed factions, special abilities, and custom loadouts to bring back a fair and skill-based experience.
Players now pick up Legendary weapons and powerups directly during matches. New tools like EMP Grenades and Portal Overloading allow players to counter portal-heavy strategies more easily.
Portal Trails have also been added, making it easier to follow enemies and teammates as they move through portals. Gunplay feels smoother now, with better controller handling, improved aim behavior, and reduced visual recoil.
The time to kill has been slightly increased, giving players more room to react in fights. Audio and visual effects have also received noticeable upgrades.
Better Performance Across All Systems
Performance improvements are a major highlight of this update. The game now runs with higher and more stable frame rates. Stuttering and hitching issues have been reduced, and maps have been optimized to lower memory usage.
Shaders and visual effects load much faster, making matches feel smoother from start to finish.
