One of the biggest tournaments T20 World Cup is set to take place from 16th October 2022. As the dates are coming closer, there seem to be more assumptions and speculations regarding the World Cup. Well, the qualifier rounds are set to take place from 16th to 21st October. As countries like West Indies, Sri Lanka, Namibia, United Arab Emirates, Scotland, Netherlands, Ireland and Zimbabwe will have to face the qualifier rounds in order to make it to Top 12.
As per the schedule, the first face off is going to take place between Sri Lanka and Namibia on 16th of October (15:00 pm onwards) at Kardinia Park Stadium, Geelong.

Past Records Between the Two
Going by the previous records of the two, both Sri Lanka and Namibia encountered a face off for once at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Despite the match being a tough start for Sri Lanka, the team managed to cover up and win against Namibia with seven wickets and remaining 37 balls.
According to reports, in the beginning Sri Lanka lost three wickets in 26 runs in 8.2 overs. But two players of Sri Lanka, Rajapaksa and Avishka made an unbroken 74-run fourth wicket stand which led them towards winning the match. Also, their bowlers cover this up by limiting Namibia to 96 runs.
Predicted Assumptions
As per the previous records, Sri Lanka is considered to be an experienced team, having some of the most renowned players. Comparing, Namibia is a new team that had begun playing international cricket in 1992.
Moreover, Sri Lanka is said to achieve the ICC T20 World Cup once in the past when it faced off against India in an exciting finale. They also won the runners-up position for two times, in 2009 and 2012. On the other hand, Namibia is yet to achieve an ICC T20 World Cup. Also going by the rankings of both, Sri Lanka stands at 10th, while Namibia has made it to 16th, as of now.
However, nothing can be said right now as both the teams seem to be preparing well and giving their best in order to make it to Top 12. The match seems to be an exciting watch.
