Star Sports India head says, “Hosting IPL successfully will give a great boost of confident to host T20 World Cup in India”

IPL, the Franchise Cricket spectacle finds its way back home this time around in India after successfully completing its previous season in UAE. The transition to India hasn’t been smooth due to the generous surge of COVID-19 cases, that India is reporting daily. The current tally of daily new COVID-19 cases has passed the 100K mark and is progressing towards 150K, which has caused worry to the government officials.

Star Sports India head, Sanjog Gupta feels confident that if India successfully hosts the IPL with all security and without any worrying situation, then it may bolster India’s chances of successfully hosting the T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place later this year.

While talking to PTI, Sanjog said that the shareholders need confidence and IPL’s successful completion with efforts might prove out to be the crux of that confidence.

He also talked about the sense of traveling that is required for players to reach one place from the other.

IPL kicks off from tonight in which the defending champions, Mumbai Indian’s face-off against Royal Challengers Bangalore. India is also scheduled to host the T20 World cup later this year in October.
