The Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025 is nearing the end of its group stage. Belgium and India are on the top of the points table with three wins each out of four matches.

With just one match to go for each team in the round-robin format, the competition has intensified. New Zealand is at the third spot with two points. This means that the Kiwis still have a chance to qualify for the finals if it defeated Belgium in its upcoming fixture and India lost against Canada on November 29.

The Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025 is the 31st edition of the  tournament. It is an annual men’s invitational international field hockey tournament hosted by Malaysia. The final will be held on 30 November 2025.

The tournament is played in a round-robin format, and only the top two teams on the points table after the round-robin stage will qualify for the Final on November 30.

India’s win against New Zealand moved them into the second spot, just behind Belgium, making the remaining round-robin fixtures crucial for final qualification.
