India’s decision to not go to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been in the news a lot. A Pakistani cricket fan asked Suryakumar Yadav why India is not going to Pakistan for the tournament. Suryakumar, who is leading India in a T20 series in South Africa, answered calmly. He said it’s not something the players can control.

Why India Won’t Visit Pakistan

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the Indian government has not allowed the team to visit Pakistan. This decision upset many fans, especially in Pakistan. They were excited to see players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy from February 9 to March 19, 2025, in three cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Even though Pakistan offered to host India’s matches in Lahore, which is near the Amritsar border, India has stayed firm in its decision.

PCB’s Response

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is pressuring the ICC and BCCI to make sure India plays in Pakistan. But the BCCI suggested India’s matches be held at a neutral place like the UAE. The PCB did not like this idea. They said the entire tournament should happen in Pakistan.

PCB president Mohsin Naqvi clearly said that Pakistan will not agree to any split format. They even said they might not take part in the tournament if India doesn’t come to Pakistan. The PCB also warned the ICC that they may stop playing India in all ICC and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events.

Suryakumar Yadav’s Answer to the Fan

While in South Africa, a Pakistani fan asked Suryakumar Yadav why India is not going to Pakistan. The fan said, “Can you tell me why you’re not coming to Pakistan?” Suryakumar smiled and replied, “Brother, it’s not in our hands.” He meant that such decisions are made by others, not the players.

The Future of India-Pakistan Matches

India-Pakistan Matches

India and Pakistan’s cricket rivalry continues to be a hot topic. Fans on both sides are passionate about this. Tournaments like the ICC Champions Trophy are important for both countries. However the political issues between the two nations often affect where matches are held.

While the BCCI is clear on its decision, the PCB is not giving up. We will have to wait and see if they can find a solution before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 or if Pakistan will really withdraw.

Conclusion

India’s choice to not travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has made many cricket fans upset. Players like Suryakumar Yadav have no control over such decisions, as they are based on political issues between India and Pakistan. Both the BCCI and PCB have strong opinions, and fans are waiting to see what will happen next.
