T20 World Cup: Players celebrate their selection in the India squad

BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced India’s squad for the T20 World Cup via an online press conference last night. The selection committee (5 senior members), Jay Shah, and Captain Virat Kohli joined online from Manchester. Players celebrate their selection in the India squad.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin from the UAE on 1the 7th of October. There will be a super 1noonground which will begin from October 23rd to the 8th of November. Post that, the knock-outs will begin from November 10th and the final will be held on 14th November.

Players like Ishan Kishan and Rahul Chahar celebrate their selection in the squad. A video shared by the Mumbai Indians showed an emotional Rahul Chahar. Members of the Mumbai Indians squad congratulate Rahul. He goes on to share, “Finally, it took so much effort. I missed a world cup in 2019, so now I’m looking forward to it as it’s a very big thing. We get very few opportunities like these in our lives.” He was also extremely excited but a little nervous. Another Mumbai Indians player, Ishan Kishan makes his way into the T20 World Cup squad. Krunal Pandya hugs and congratulates the youngster on his selection.

In conclusion, the team will feature – Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (VC, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami. Standby players – Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.
