In the T20I format, there are a total of 3 T20I Indian Debutants who have bowled a maiden in the first over of their debut. The first match of the 3-match  T20 International series between India and Bangladesh is being played in Gwalior. In this match, young fast bowler Mayank Yadav made his T20 International debut and bowled the first maiden over of his spell.

Let us tell you that he has become the third Indian bowler to bowl the first over maiden in T20 International cricket. Before him, only two Indian bowlers have acheived this feat.

First Over Maiden For India by T20I Indian Debutants

  1. Mayank Yadav vs Bangladesh, Gwalior, 2024

22-year-old fast bowler Mayank Yadav made his T20I debut against Bangladesh in Gwalior. In this match, he bowled the first over of his spell in the last over of the powerplay, which was a maiden. He bowled all the balls against Bangladeshi batsman Tauheed Hridoy as dots. With this, he became the third bowler to bowl his first over maiden in T20 International cricket.

  1. Arshdeep Singh vs England, Southampton, 2022

Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh made his T20I debut against England in Southampton in July 2022. In that match, he bowled his first maiden over. With this, he became the second bowler to bowl a maiden in his over in T20 International cricket.

Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets for 18 runs in 3.3 overs in his debut T20 International match. He got his first success in the form of Reece Topley, while the second wicket was in the form of Matthew Parkinson. India won that match by 50 runs.

  1. Ajit Agarkar vs South Africa, Johannesburg, 2006

Former Indian fast bowler Ajit Agarkar made his T20 International debut against South Africa in Johannesburg in the year 2007. That was also India’s first match in T20 International cricket history. In that match, Ajit Agarkar bowled the first over of his T20I career spell in the 6th over of the innings, which was a maiden.

Agarkar took 2 wickets in that match by spending 10 runs in 2.3 overs. He got the first success of his T20 career in the form of Herschelle Gibbs. Apart from this, AB de Villiers became his second victim in that match.
