Speaking to ANI, sources regarding the event confirmed to the franchise that Harmanpreet and Smriti will conduct their business for the league’s opening season.

“Harmanpreet and Smriti have already been given the NOC. Smriti will play for Southern Braves within the inaugural edition of the competition, while Harmanpreet will represent the Manchester Originals,” the source said.

Earlier on Monday, sources also confirmed that Shaifali Verma is that the fifth Indian player to possess been awarded a NOC for The Hundred by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Swashbuckling opener will play for Birmingham Phoenix.

“It may be a piece of pleasant news not just for Shafali but also for Indian women’s cricket that there’ll be five Indian players within the inaugural edition of The Hundred. He will rejoin his Sydney Sixers coach Ben Sawyer and therefore the experience helped him move forward. Must do. There was already a really positive road for the youth,” the source told ANI.

Apart from Shaifali, Smriti, and Harmanpreet, Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues are the opposite two players who have also been given NOC to play within the inaugural version of The Hundred.

The Hundred, which is an ECB brainchild, will take eight teams over one another . the primary match within the competition is going to be played on 21 July between the women’s teams of the Oval Invincibles and Manchester Origin.

With the BOCI being granted the NOC, the migration of Indian women players to the united kingdom is going to be extended because the national team has got to play one Test, three ODIs, and a number of other T20Is in June-July this year.

Harmanpreet, Smriti, Jemimah, and Deepti were Indian players who had just played within the defending Kia Super League (KSL), ECB’s domestic T20 tournament. The opening season of The Hundred was scheduled to be played last year but was postponed thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hundred may be a 100-ball cricket tournament during which major players (both women and men) will appear within the tournament in English Summer later this year.
