On 4th July, Virat Kohli became one of the athletes with the Most Followers on X, coming in second place after Cristiano Ronaldo. The number one athlete on this list is Cristiano Ronaldo with over 110.7 million followers, and then at number three comes Neymar Junior with 62.8 million. The top ten list continues with Andrés Iniesta with over 21.7 million.

The enumeration of the most-followed athletes on X was changed on 4th July 2026, when Virat Kohli touched another milestone of gaining nearly 70 million followers. Kohli comes in second place when it comes to the most-followed person on X in India after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who holds over 106 million followers on X.

Virat Kohli reached this heroic milestone by crossing 70 million followers. Previously, he had 69.9 million followers. He also surpassed Kim Kardashian, who has 69.8 million followers on X, and this makes him the 11th most-followed person in the world on the X platform.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 111.7 Million

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese footballer, tops the list of the most-followed athletes on X. Ronaldo also holds many records in his name, other than being the athlete with the most followers on X. He holds the records for the most goals in men’s international football with 146 goals and the UEFA Champions League with 140 goals. 

Also, he is the player with the most appearances on the field, with nearly 232 field appearances. Cristiano Ronaldo joined (X/Twitter) in June 2010. With 110.7 million followers and 82 following, he actively posts many things on his account, which fans find engaging and keep them closer to Ronaldo’s off-field life.

Virat Kohli – 70 Million

Virat Kohli, on 4th July 2026, crossed the landmark of 70 million followers and became the second athlete with the most followers on X. Virat Kohli, on the field, has many records to his name, including the most centuries (54 centuries) and the most runs in an ODI World Cup. In the 2023 ICC Men’s World Cup, he scored 765 runs. These are two of the records out of many. Virat Kohli created his (X/Twitter) account in September 2009. With 70 million followers and 59 following, on his X account, he posts regularly about his personal life and promotes brand deals and endorsements.

Neymar Jr. – 62.8 Million

Neymar Jr., the Brazilian footballer, with 62.8 million followers, comes as the third athlete with the most followers on X after Cristiano Ronaldo and Virat Kohli, and Neymar Junior created his (X/Twitter) account in June 2010. 

Neymar is best known for his on-field heroics, with 79 goals in his 129 appearances for the Brazilian national team. Neymar posts glimpses of his off-field life on his X account, and he also uses his huge fan following to promote brands and endorsements.
