The iconic duo of twin brothers, Jey Uso and Jimmy, together made their dream tag team, “the usos” in 2010, which later turned out to be one of the greatest tag teams in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). The Usos have fought numerous iconic matches, but their bout against The New Day at the SmackDown Tag Team Championship 2017 continues to be one of the most memorable tag team bouts of all-time. The bout was filled with action-packed moves and thrilling rivalry between the two tag teams. The twin brothers’ Usos ended up defeating the New Day and established themselves as one of the most deadly tag teams in the history of WWE. 

  • The Rockerz

Often hailed as one of the greatest and most influential tag teams that dominated WWE from the late 1980s to the early 1990s, The Rockers are in the second spot in our list of the top five greatest tag teams in the history of WWE. The Rockers originally belonged to the legendary WWE wrestlers Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty. The iconic duo of Edge and Christian clinched the WWE Tag Team Championship title for a record total of seven times. 

  • Legion of Doom 

The Legion of Doom (LOD), often also referred to as their original name “The Road Warriors”, consisted of the two top-notch WWE wrestlers – Michael Hegstrand and Joseph Laurinaitis. Known for their unique aura and the distinctive roles of the Hawk and the Animal that the two wrestlers took on the stage further intensified their presence, at the platform. With painted faces and spiked shoulders, Michael Hegstrand and Joseph Laurinaitis undoubtedly dominated the WWE Tag Team Championship and were later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011. Although the Legion of Doom witnessed a glorious trajectory at the WWE Tag Teams Championships, their dominance came to a tragic end with the untimely demise of Michael Hegstrand, aka “the hawk”.

The New Day clinched their first-ever WWE Tag Team Championship at Extreme Rules 2015 by defeating Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. Additionally, the fact that The New Day is the longest-reigning tag team champions in the history of WWE, which lasted for 483 days, still makes them one of the greatest tag teams ever introduced to the world.
