Announcing his retirement on social media, Rahim wrote – I am retiring from ODI cricket today. I agree that our achievements in international cricket are fewer. But whenever I played for the country, I played with full dedication and honesty. The last few weeks have been full of difficulties for me and I have realized that this is my destiny. Finally, I want to thank my family, friends and fans from the bottom of my heart, for whom I played cricket for the last 19 years.
Mushfiqur was the same batsman because of whom India was knocked out of the group stage in the 2007 ODI World Cup. This player, who made his international debut in 2007, played an unbeaten inning of 56 runs against India and played a key role in helping Bangladesh win by five wickets over India.
