A spectacular century by opener Sameer Minhas set the stage for a resounding triumph for Pakistan as they won the U-19 Asia Cup 2025 final against India at the ICC Academy Grounds in Dubai, featuring in a high-stakes IND vs PAK encounter. Pakistan won the prestigious junior continental championship in style, lifting the title.

Sameer Minhas Stakes his Claim in Match-Winning 172

Batting first in the U-19 Asia Cup 2025 final match, Pakistan started off on the back foot after losing their opening wicket; however, they took complete control of the match through an outstanding start by Sameer Minhas. Sameer reached his first fifty in just 29 balls, putting pressure on the Indian bowling unit from the very start.

Minhas then went on to score an immense partnership of 137 runs with Ahmed Hussain. Though Hussain took his time to settle and reach his fifty, Minhas was on fire. He reached his century in just 71 deliveries. His century was filled with numerous boundaries.

Pakistan Build Massive Total Despite Late Fightback

By the end of the 40th over, Pakistan were cruising along at 276/3, and they were well on their way to a massive finish. However, it was opener Sameer Minhas, who launched an unbridled attack, hitting nine sixers, and looking well on course to record a double century before being dismissed for a fantastic 172 off 113 deliveries.

India fought back a bit at the end with frequent wickets, restricting Pakistan to a total of 71 runs in the end. However, a massive total of 347/8 was registered by Pakistan, making a daunting task of 348 for India in the IND vs PAK final.

Early Fireworks Fade as India’s Chase Collapses

India started their innings with fireworks in their chase as Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit sixes on the first, second, and third balls of their first over. India scored 21 runs in their first over, which seemed like they might have started their fightback.

But Pakistan did not take time to respond. Ali Raza bowled Ayush Mhatre and then got the perilous Suryavanshi out one by one, leaving India with 49/3 in less than five overs. The momentum completely turned around in Pakistan’s favor.

Bowlers Lead Pakistan to Championship

After this, the pressure was constant on Pakistan, and the wickets started flowing, and soon the Indians found themselves struggling at 68/5 by the end of the power play, with a possible comeback becoming a distant dream.

There was a slight resistance from Deepesh Devendran with a cameo appearance, but Ali Raza was back again to complete an excellent four-wicket haul. India got bowled out for a low score of 156 runs in 26.2 overs, giving a staggering victory margin of 191 runs to Pakistan, as they won the final match of the U-19 Asia Cup 2025.
