However, the main event of the night at UFC 326 was a historic display of dominance as Charles Oliveira emerged victorious over Max Holloway, claiming the coveted BMF title via unanimous decision.

The fight went down at the renowned T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where Charles Oliveira demonstrated his top-notch grappling skills, putting pressure on Max Holloway over all five rounds of the fight.

The judges have scored this fight as 50-45 in favor of Charles Oliveira due to the sheer dominance now shown by the Brazilian superstar throughout the fight.

Displays Ability to Keep Opponent Under Control by using Better Grappling

When UFC 326 started, it was evident right from the beginning of the fight that Charles Oliveira’s intent was to use his exceptional grappling to prevent Max Holloway from striking while keeping the fight on the floor.

Oliveira attempted and successfully executed numerous takedowns on Holloway and was required to defend against submission attempts and spend all of his time defending from the bottom against Oliveira with every round. Oliveira also threw some powerful strikes in combination with his grappling attacks.

In the first round, Oliveira stunned Holloway with a sharp right hand, but quickly took him down to the canvas. Oliveira almost ended the fight in the first round with a rear-naked choke, but Holloway managed to withstand it. Despite his toughness, Holloway was unable to muster any offense in 25 minutes of fighting.

Max Holloway Struggles to Find Momentum

Holloway is recognized as one of the most active strikers and delivers an impressive number of punches; however he struggled to create any rhythm or continuity during his matchup at UFC 326 against Oliveira.

The former featherweight champion was not able to throw many punches as he was busy defending against Oliveira’s grappling skills. As the fight went into the later rounds, it was quite obvious that Holloway was tired and could not keep up the pace. Oliveira’s constant takedown attempts ensured that Holloway was on the back foot for the majority of the fight.

Oliveira Makes History With BMF Championship

This victory at UFC 326 is a significant milestone in the career of Charles Oliveira.

By virtue of the victory:

Oliveira will become the fourth BMF champion in UFC history.

Oliveira will become the first fighter in the history of the UFC to hold the BMF championship and the undisputed lightweight championship during his career.

This victory will be a great comeback for the Brazilian star Oliveira because he was defeated by Ilia Topuria through a knockout last year, and there was a question whether the Brazilian star was past his prime.
