The Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) is set to return for its second season with renewed energy and expanded format. The UPKL Season 2 Player Auction will take place on November 3, 2025, in Noida.
UPKL 2 Expands To 10 Teams
The second edition of the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League will have 10 teams in fray- two up from eight sides in the previous edition. Aligarh Tigers and Kanpur Warriors are the two new entrants. They will join a roster of returning teams that include Lucknow Lions, Yamuna Yoddha, Noida Ninja, Kashi Kings, Avadh Ramdoot, Bridge Stars, Sangam Challengers, and Ganga Kings of Mirzapur.
Player Auction Budget Details
Each team will have a ₹12 lakh purse to build a competitive squad, taking the total auction pool to ₹1.2 crore. Players will be drawn from a comprehensive pool of 500 athletes shortlisted through the league’s scouting and registration process. In comparison, Season 1 featured around 350 players, reflecting UPKL’s growing scale and outreach.

Players will be divided into four categories based on their experience and performance level:
Category A: Base price ₹1,00,000
Category B: Base price ₹60,000
Category C: Base price ₹40,000
Category D: Base price ₹25,000
Squad Composition Guidelines
As per the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League Auction Handbook, every franchise must select:
- Minimum 3 players from Category A
- 4 players each from Categories B and C
- 3 players from Category D

When will Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League Season 2 take Place?
The UPKL Season 2 will begin on December 25, 2025, featuring around 64 matches. All the matches will be held in Noida.
The upcoming season will be place under the official tagline: “Apna Bharat, Apna Khel Khel Raha Hai Mera Pradesh” symbolizing kabaddi’s deep rooted in Indian tradition and regional pride.
