Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old batter, lit up the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai by smashing a fantastic century for India’s U19 side who took on Australia’s U19 team in a youth Test on Monday. Vaibhav, who plays for Bihar, achieved the milestone in just 58 balls in his maiden red-ball match for the Indian Under-19 team.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 58-ball century is only behind former England all-rounder Moeen Ali, who smashed a 56-ball hundred for England Under-19 in 2005. His glorious knock was laced with 14 boundaries and 4 sixes in a destructive knock. He was run out when batting on 104 runs in just 62 deliveries as India came up with a strong response to Australia’s first innings total of 293.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi gained attention when he debuted for Bihar in the Ranji Trophy at just 12 years old, breaking records set by Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh. In two matches in 2024, he scored 31 runs against Mumbai and Chhattisgarh.

Nasir Jamshed holds the record for the highest score with 204 runs, accomplished at the age of 15 years and 102 days against Sri Lanka.
