Virat Kohli Plans Move To London After Retirement, Reveals Childhood Coach
Virat Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, has confirmed that the cricketer, along with his wife Anushka Sharma and their children, Vamika and Akaay, will be moving to London soon.
Virat Kohli’s Big Move: Plans to Settle in London
While Rajkumar Sharma didn’t share many details, he hinted that Virat Kohli plans to settle in the UK after retiring from cricket. Kohli has been visiting London often in recent years, and their son Akaay was born there on February 15 this year. The family owns a house in London and is likely to live there after the move.
“Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon. However, right now, Kohli is spending most of his time with his family apart from cricket,” Sharma told Dainik Jagran.
Virat Kohli and his family spent much of this year in London. After the birth of his son Akaay, Virat Kohli returned to India following the team’s T20 World Cup win in June. He briefly played in the ODI series against Sri Lanka in July before heading back to the UK, where he stayed until August.
Retirement Plans: Virat Kohli to Play Till 2027 ODI World Cup
In the interview, Rajkumar Sharma was asked about Kohli’s form and retirement plans. He said Kohli’s form isn’t a worry and predicted he would score two more centuries for India in the remaining Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
“Virat is playing the best cricket of his career. He scored a century in the first Test against Australia. I believe in the upcoming two Tests, he is going to score two more centuries. He has always enjoyed his cricket. His form is not a matter of concern. He knows how to perform in difficult situations and help his side win the match.”
“Virat is still very fit, and he is not old enough to take retirement. I think he will play for five more years. He will definitely play for India in the 2027 ODI World Cup. I have known him for the last 26 years, and that’s why I can say that there’s still so much cricket left in him,” Sharma added.
Virat Kohli returned for India’s home season, starting with two Tests against Bangladesh and three against New Zealand. Since India’s 0-3 loss to New Zealand, he and his family have remained in India, celebrating his birthday with loved ones.
Kohli is currently playing in the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. His next major tournament will be the Champions Trophy, though the schedule and venues are yet to be announced. It’s unclear when he will visit London next, but it could be sometime between the Champions Trophy and the start of IPL 2025.
