But New Zealand made a ferocious comeback against Team India in T20Is and won 2 out of 3 matches and registered a champions title by a margin of 2-1. The Indian side captain was Virat Kohli, and the New Zealand captain was Kane Williamson.
This victory was the only bilateral T20I series at the home venue of the Black Caps against India. If we look at the head-to-head series win record between New Zealand and India in T20Is, India holds a great margin of 7-2, as the first one was held on 11th September 2012.

India’s recent back-to-back bilateral T20I series defeats against Ireland 2-0 and England 4-0 marked only the second such instance in the team’s T20I history.
The previous occurrence came in 2019, when India suffered two series defeats in a row, the first against New Zealand 2-1 and Australia 2-0.
