Archery is one of the lesser-known events and sports that are known to the world today. It is indeed a popular sport among some circles and takes a high amount of practice to reach the targets. With the start of the New Year, we bring in a list of the top 5 international archery events that can be stated as the most exciting events. There are three world championships this year that would be very interesting and critical for the professional archers. Apart from this, there will also be continental titles and other multisport events where archers can perform, practice and showcase their skills.
The events are anticipated to be an excellent learning experience and ground for the archers that are looking forward to Olympics and Paralympics. The details of the 5 events are as follows:
- Olympic Test Event:
This test event is specifically designed to showcase the archery venue of the Paris 2024 Olympics and give a practice idea to the potential archers.
The dates of the event are 15-20 August 2023.
- Student Games:
These are also called the World University Games. Formerly the name was Universiade. It is the perfect place for students where they come together to socialize, practice and understand the professional side of the game in the best possible way. Archers are mainly students from the University age group. That is the primary reason that this competition is very successful. Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the events were delayed until 2021. As the sessions embark for 2023 games, it is expected to be interesting to see a large number of players and athletes.
The dates of the event are 27-31 July 2023.
- Hermosillo:
Mexico is one country that has become very popular for hosting the Archery events over time. The Hyundai Archery World Cup Final is a legendary arena and forces a large number of crowds to come in force and watch the varied events of Archery. Hermosillo is the hometown of the Olympic medallist Alejandra Valencia. Thus, the support for archers is very high here.
The dates of the event are 9-10 September 2023.
- The Asian Games:
The Asian Games is the largest event that is going to take place when compared to the other events that have made it to this list. Due to the pandemic, the event was delayed. It was earlier supposed to take place in 2022. It is accounted that the number of Archers that are participating in The Asian Games are much higher than the Olympics. Some of the top nations of Archery are – Korea, Japan, Chinese, Malaysia, India and Indonesia etc. China will be the highlight of the games this year-round.
The dates of the event are 1-8 October 2023.
- The Worlds:
This is one event that is solely based on Archery. It is the main qualification event for the Olympics. It is said that moment of the event will be televised across the globe. The venue of the event is Berlin. It is anticipated that the event will be full of drama and would be a step towards the Olympic stadium for many players.
The dates of the event are 1-6 August 2023.
