Ronda Rousey is one of the most famous names in women’s wrestling. When she first stepped into WWE, the “Rowdy” star instantly grabbed attention because of her MMA background and her strong presence inside the ring. She became a top attraction and played a big role in making the women’s division feel bigger than ever.
After leaving WWE in 2023, Rousey appeared in other promotions like Ring of Honor, keeping herself active in wrestling outside of WWE. Many fans are still hoping to see her return to the company one more time, especially after she took verbal shots at Alexa Bliss. However, the reality looks different. Here are three main reasons why Ronda Rousey is not planning a WWE comeback.
The MMA Four Horsewomen are no longer in WWE
Ronda often mentioned that one of her biggest motivations to join WWE was to wrestle alongside her friends, known as the MMA Four Horsewomen Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke.
In a recent interview, Ronda admitted that wrestling was fun for her because of the bond she shared with her group. Sadly, things have changed now. Duke was released from WWE, Shafir works in AEW and ROH, and even Baszler has parted ways.
Rousey’s last WWE match was against Shayna Baszler, and she made it clear that without her girls, she has no desire to stick around. This shows that her connection with the Four Horsewomen was at the heart of her WWE journey. Without them, there’s little reason for her to return.
Creative disappointment in WWE
Another strong reason behind her absence is her unhappiness with WWE’s creative booking. Rousey openly revealed that the company never gave her the full Four Horsewomen storyline she was promised.
“They dangled that carrot during my whole run and never let it happen,” Ronda explained.
This disappointment left her frustrated. As someone who came in with high expectations, she felt the creative direction of her character was weak and wasted opportunities. With Triple H leading the creative team now, Rousey still doesn’t seem interested, showing that her trust in the company’s plans is gone.
Ronda Rousey has already achieved everything
During her WWE career, Ronda Rousey collected many big achievements in a short time. She won the Women’s Royal Rumble in 2022, became Women’s World Champion, and also held the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
She headlined the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view, WWE Evolution 2018, where she defeated Nikki Bella. Fans also remember her involvement in a storyline with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, which made her stand out as a crossover star.
Looking at her career, it’s clear that Rousey has already done it all in WWE. There are no major milestones left for her to chase, and that’s why she feels her chapter in WWE is already closed.
