Will miss you at the Olympics: PV Sindhu to Carolina Marin

Reigning Olympic champion Carolina Marin pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics 2021 due to ACL injury in her knee. She suffered the same injury in the year 2019 but made a great comeback and was also the prime contenders of winning the gold at this years’ Olympics and retain her title.

Rio Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu wished Spain’s Carolina Marin a speedy recovery after she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics following a knee injury tearing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will not be able to retain her title.

Reigning Olympic champion Carolina Marin pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics 2021 due to an ACL injury in her knee. She suffered the same injury in the year 2019 but made a great comeback and was also the prime contender of winning the gold at this years’ Olympics and retain her title.

PV Sindhu who lost to her in the Olympic Final in 2016 wrote, “So sorry to hear about your injury. Hoping that you will recover soon and come back stronger,” said her video message posted on Twitter.

“I remember the last Olympic Games when we played in the final. It was really good competing against you so I’m going to miss that again, and I’ve been missing you, seeing you on the court. said Sindhu recalling the match.

“I will miss you at the Olympic Games but hope we compete against each other soon, so come back fast and recover soon. Lots of love.”

Marin, a three-time World Champion, was a title favorite as she had been in red-hot form this year, winning four of the five finals that she played.
