As WWE Backlash 2025 gets closer, fans are excited to see top stars like Randy Orton and John Cena. But one big name who may not appear is Roman Reigns.
After losing at WrestleMania 41 to Seth Rollins and CM Punk, Roman Reigns has not been seen on any WWE show. He was attacked after the match, and Bron Breakker hit him with a strong spear, which took him off TV.

5. Removed from TV after WrestleMania
On the RAW episode after WrestleMania, Roman Reigns asked Paul Heyman for answers. But before he could get them, Bron Breakker came and speared both Reigns and Punk. It looked like WWE planned this moment to take Reigns off the show for a while.
WWE has done this before to give stars a break and bring them back in a big way, like at SummerSlam. If Reigns returns too soon, the story won’t feel strong.
4. WWE is pushing new stars
Roman Reigns no longer has a championship, so he does not need to be on every show. In the last year, WWE has focused more on new and rising stars.
If Reigns still had the title, he might have stayed a few more weeks after WrestleMania. But now, WWE is giving more time to other names, so Reigns is not needed at Backlash 2025.

Roman Reigns is now a part-time wrestler. WWE brings him only for big events like WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series.
Since SummerSlam 2025 will be a two-night event, WWE may want Reigns to return there, not at a smaller event like Backlash. WWE uses stars like Logan Paul and Brock Lesnar the same way.
