Will Virat Kohli open in World Cup as well? Here’s what Rohit Sharma has to say

Indian cricket team vice-captain Rohit Sharma believes that it is too early to decide the batting order of the team for the 2021 T20I World Cup from now on and captain Virat Kohli’s opening innings with him in the last T20 International against England was just a strategic move.

“Getting Kohli to open was just a strategic move”– Rohit Sharma

After winning the T20I series on Saturday, Rohit said, “There is still a lot of time in the T20I World Cup. Then it is too early to talk about how our batting line-up will be. We will have to sit down and decide what will be most favorable for the team.”

He added, “Today the decision to get Kohli to start the innings was just a strategic move because we wanted to have an extra bowler in the team and we wanted to exclude a batsman and unfortunately KL Rahul had to sit out which was a difficult decision.”

Regarding Kohli’s regular innings with him, Rohit said that this batting order was good for us in this match. But this will all depend on what the captain is thinking at that particular time.
