World Boxing Cup Finals 2025 is set to take place from November 14 to 21 at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida. Over 140 elite boxers from 18 nations, including three Paris 2024 Olympic medallists, will be competing across ten men’s and ten women’s weight categories.
This marks India’s first time hosting the World Boxing Cup Finals and the first major global competition to be held under the IOC-recognized World Boxing (WB) federation.
Boxing Federation of India (BFI) President Ajay Singh said:
“Hosting the World Boxing Cup Finals is a proud moment for Indian boxing and a reflection of how far we’ve come on the global stage. Bringing the world’s top nations and Olympic medallists to compete here is an honour and a testament to India’s growing stature as a boxing powerhouse.”
India has announced a strong 20-member squad for the upcoming World Boxing Cup Finals. Leading the nation’s charge are Former World Champion Nikhat Zareen, Reigning World Champions Jaismine Lamboria and Minakshi Hooda. Hitesh and Abhinash Jamwal, both medallists from earlier World Boxing Cup stages are medal hopefuls in the men’s field.
Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain will miss the tournament due to an impending surgery, with Saweety Boora stepping into her 75kg slot.
The Finals will also feature several high-profile international stars, including Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medallists Im Ae-ji (54kg) from South Korea and Wu Shih-Yi (60kg) and Chen Nien-Chin (66kg) from Chinese Taipei.
The week-long tournament will employ the Olympic-style 10-point must scoring system. Both semifinalists will receive bronze medals, while the gold and silver bouts will be contested on November 21.
