The World Tennis League 2024 is happening in Abu Dhabi with some of the top tennis players from around the world.

From December 19-22, stars like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nick Kyrgios, Aryna Sabalenka, and Iga Swiatek will be divided into teams to compete in an exciting, unique format.

The teams will play against each other in a round-robin style until the top two teams reach the final.

World Tennis League 2024 Format Explained

  • Round Robin Format:
    Each match consists of four sets: men’s singles, women’s singles, and two doubles matches (men’s, women’s, or mixed, determined by a coin toss).
  • Scoring:
    Teams earn one point for each game won in a tie.
  • Overtime:
    If the team trailing wins the fourth set, the match enters overtime. In overtime, the leading team needs to win just one game to clinch the match tie.
  • Super Shootout:
    If the tie score is equal after overtime, a super shootout tiebreak (first to 10) is played. The winner of the super shootout earns one point plus two bonus points.
  • Final:
    The top two teams after the round-robin stage will advance to the final.
