Anticipation is building for the WPL 2026 auction as the BCCI announced an eight-player Marquee group led by Deepti Sharma, Alyssa Healy, and Laura Wolvaardt. In total, 277 players across 39 sets will feature in the auction to be held on November 27 in New Delhi.

Marquee Set for WPL 2026 Auction: Big Names, Big Stakes

The Marquee list comprises of four overseas stars and four Indian and international heavyweights:

Deepti Sharma (India)

Alyssa Healy (Australia)

Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa)

Renuka Singh (India – the only other Indian in this group)

Sophie Devine

Sophie Ecclestone

Amelia Kerr

Meg Lanning

Reserve prices vary within the Marquee group:

Deepti, Healy, Devine, Ecclestone, Kerr, Lanning – INR 50 lakh base price

Renuka Singh – INR 40 lakh

Laura Wolvaardt – INR 30 lakh

277 Players Set to Go Under the Hammer

As many as 277 players have signed up for the WPL 2026 auction, with a good mix of international stars, Indian talent, and rising uncapped players.

Top Reserve Price Category: 19 Players Listed at INR 50 Lakh

Nineteen players have slotted themselves in the highest reserve bracket of INR 50 lakh. This includes the following:

This tier is expected to encourage intense bidding wars in the WPL 2026 auction, considering the versatile all-rounders and high-impact performances.

Team Purses and Right to Match Cards

The five franchises will go into the WPL 2026 auction with a collective purse of INR 41.1 crore following player retentions.

Franchise Purse Balances

UP Warriorz – INR 14.5 crore, highest purse; retained only Shweta Sehrawat

Mumbai Indians – INR 5.75 crore

Delhi Capitals – INR 5.7 crore

Remaining franchises hold moderate balances, setting the stage for strategic buys. In addition, eight Right to Match (RTM) cards will be available: UP Warriorz possess four RTM cards all by themselves, an unprecedented and strong tactical hand.
