WWE Night of Champions 2025 will happen in Saudi Arabia as planned, despite Israel-Iran conflict
Tension has increased in the Middle East due to the Israel-Iran war, but there is no official change in the plan for WWE Night of Champions 2025. This big event is scheduled for June 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and so far everything is on track.
WWE team has already started work in Saudi Arabia
According to reports, WWE’s production crew started work in Saudi Arabia from June 9. The setup work at Mohammed Abdu Arena has also been going on for a few days. This shows that both WWE and their Saudi partners are confident that the show will happen on time.
Some crew members are stuck in Qatar
However, not everything is going smoothly. Reports also say that five WWE production members are currently stuck in Qatar. They had a connecting flight to Riyadh, but due to a temporary airspace shutdown, they are unable to leave from there.
These people were on a layover in Qatar, but their next flight got delayed because of military activity in the region. This incident clearly shows that international events near conflict zones always carry some risk.
Saudi officials are working closely on the situation
Fightful also reported that Saudi officials held multiple meetings this week focused on event safety and coordination. WWE has not given any new update to its Superstars about travel or scheduling changes.
WWE Superstars still have same travel plan for midweek
As of Monday night, WWE Superstars are still scheduled to fly midweek to Saudi Arabia by chartered flight. This means that everything is still going according to the plan.
The bonus system for Saudi events has also changed
Another update is that earlier WWE used to give special bonuses for Saudi Arabia events, but now that system has changed. These shows are now included in the regular contracts of the Superstars. So Saudi events are no longer special but just a regular part of the global schedule.
Safety is a concern but event will happen as planned
Even though the situation in the Middle East is unstable, WWE has not announced any cancellation or delay yet. The company is watching the situation closely and will take quick action if needed.
