The first night of WWE WrestleMania 41 has ended, and it brought fans a mix of big wins, surprise moves, and a few letdowns. Some matches were unforgettable, while others didn’t feel like WrestleMania at all. With Night Two still to come, here’s a full look at what worked and what didn’t during Night One.
El Grande Americano vs Rey Fenix Felt Flat
This match had no real build-up. Rey Fenix stepped in after Rey Mysterio got injured, but the match with El Grande Americano didn’t connect. It ended quickly, just under eight minutes and didn’t feel special.
Since there was no real story between them, it felt more like a RAW match, not something you expect at WrestleMania. Many fans felt Dragon Lee would have been a better pick, especially after what happened with his mask. This could have added emotion and made the match more meaningful.
Jacob Fatu Becomes a Star
Jacob Fatu winning the United States Championship was one of the best parts of Night One. His match against LA Knight was fast, clean, and full of energy. Fans were hyped for both stars, but Fatu stood out.
The “Samoan Werewolf” is now a singles champ, and that brings a lot of change for The New Bloodline. With Solo Sikoa not holding gold, Fatu’s win might cause some tension. LA Knight also looks ready to move toward a bigger title soon.
New Day’s Win Lacked Impact
The New Day became World Tag Team Champions, but their match with the War Raiders didn’t have much excitement. Even though the teams have a solid background, the match didn’t feel fresh.
Kofi Kingston used a sneaky move to help Xavier Woods win, but it didn’t bring the shock it was meant to. Fans were also hoping Big E would show up, especially after his past with the team. Maybe he’ll return in Night Two or a later show, but this match just didn’t hit the mark.
Tiffany Stratton Stuns Charlotte Flair
This was one of the best women’s matches in a long time. Tiffany Stratton faced Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women’s Championship, and no one could guess who would win. Flair seemed ready for her 15th title, but Stratton pulled through.
She even lost a tooth and hit her head during the match but didn’t stop. That kind of fight made fans respect her even more. With this win, “Tiffy Time” is clearly far from over. She’s now one of the top women in WWE.
Jey Uso’s Win Felt Weak
Fans were excited for Jey Uso vs Gunther, but the ending didn’t make sense. Jey made Gunther tap out to a Sleeper Hold a move he rarely uses.
It didn’t feel earned. Gunther didn’t seem to be in real danger, and the tap-out was way too quick. The story leading up to this match had great build-up, but the result felt like a rushed decision. Jey’s win didn’t show the usual heart he’s known for.
Jade Cargill vs Naomi Was Rushed
The match between Jade Cargill and Naomi had a real story behind it. But it didn’t need to happen at WrestleMania. There was not enough build-up, and the match could have worked better at another event, like Backlash.
Cargill won, but the story doesn’t feel complete. Naomi still seems like she has more to say. The match didn’t close the chapter between them it just paused it.
Paul Heyman’s Double Betrayal Shakes WWE
The main event was wild. Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns battled in a Triple Threat match that had fans cheering nonstop. Every move mattered, and the drama was sky-high.
Then came the shock Paul Heyman handed a chair to CM Punk, tricking everyone into thinking he had picked a side. But then he turned on Punk… and then Roman too! He helped Seth Rollins instead, revealing he had been with The Architect all along.
Rollins used the chair, hit a Stomp, and pinned Roman to win the match. He is now back as a top heel, with Heyman in his corner. This ending changed everything, and fans are now wondering what Night Two will bring.
What Could Happen on WrestleMania Night Two?
Night One set up a lot of questions:
- Will Big E return and face The New Day?
- Is LA Knight heading for a world title match soon?
- What’s next for Rollins and Heyman now that they’re a team?
- Will Solo Sikoa fight Fatu for leadership of the Bloodline?
One thing is clear WrestleMania 41 has only just begun, and WWE still has a lot to show.
