Yashasvi Jaiswal gets in the spotlight when former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu made a statement where he said, “He needs to change his team because he cannot just bat with the guy and be overshadowed every single time. He’s a star in his own right. If he goes to another team, he will win matches on his own. He needs that space and that platform. Because this guy will keep overshadowing people, it has to be a senior partner alongside him who can deal with it and be happy for him, be happy for what is happening, and not compete with the non-striker.”

Analysing this statement, Ambati Rayudu articulated something that was for the benefit of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s upcoming bright future, as Jaiswal has consistently produced important runs for the Rajasthan Royals. But since last season, when 13-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took charge of the opening and not only scored runs but also broke many records, IPL 2026 was a fairy-tale season for him.

But Yashasvi Jaiswal has also produced important innings and performed well in the season, but kept getting overshadowed, and Yashasvi Jaiswal himself is a star performer who plays cricket with great maturity and has performed fabulously throughout the season.

Yashasvi Jaiwal vs Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s IPL Records

Yashasvi Jaiswal made 559 runs in the IPL 2025 season in 14 matches, with an average of 43 and a highest score of 75. And in IPL 2026, he scored 426* runs in 15 matches so far, with an average of 32.77 and a highest score of 77*. He provided crucial contributions for the Royals in the past 2 seasons and has been a key player.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 252 runs in IPL 2025, playing 7 matches, with a highest score of 101 runs and at an average of 36. But tables turned for him in IPL 2026 as he was the highest run-scorer for Rajasthan and the top run-scorer of the season with the Orange Cap, scoring 680* runs in 15 matches, at an average of 45.33 and a highest score of 103. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi himself is a miraculous player who hits sixes and fours effortlessly, and this makes him different from other players.

Will Yashasvi Jaiswal Leave Rajasthan Royals?

IPL 2027 Auction can be a turning point for Yashasvi Jaiswal’s career, as if he plans to walk out from Rajasthan Royals and, as Ambati Rayudu said, “Mumbai Indians is a good team for Jaiswal.”
