The Indian Premier League (IPL) has long been known for giving young cricketers a platform to showcase their skills, and 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre from Mumbai is one such player making waves. Mhatre made his debut in first-class cricket during the 2024 Irani Cup match between Mumbai and the Rest of India (ROI). In his debut inning, he scored 19 runs, while Sarfaraz Khan’s massive unbeaten 222 took the limelight. Mumbai won the match, claiming the Irani Cup title after 27 years.
