India won by 150 runs against England in the fifth T20 match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Abhishek Sharma played a key role in the victory with an amazing all-round performance. He scored 135 runs off 54 balls and took two important wickets in one over. He also took a catch, showing his overall impact on the game.
With his brilliant all-round performance, Abhishek made the game one-sided. His mentor, the legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, praised him on social media. Yuvraj took to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) and posted:
“Abhishek Sharma, you played brilliantly. You are exactly where I wanted to see you. I’m proud of you.”
This tweet quickly went viral, with fans praising Abhishek and calling him a true follower of his mentor. Earlier in the series, when Abhishek scored 79 runs off 34 balls in the first match, Yuvraj had also praised his performance. He tweeted:
“A great start to the series for the youngsters! Our bowlers were outstanding. Sir Abhishek Sharma, top knock! I was particularly impressed by the two boundaries you hit on the field.”
In the latest match, the 24-year-old played an incredible innings, scoring his half-century in just 17 balls and his century in only 37 balls. His powerful batting helped India set a huge total of 247/9 in 20 overs.
India’s bowlers then held England to just 97 runs, securing a dominant 150-run win. With this victory, India won the T20 series 4-1.
