Yuzvendra Chahal came under significant public scrutiny in May 2026 after a viral vlog by Arshdeep Singh appeared to show him vaping on a Punjab Kings team flight. The video quickly spread across social media and created debate about player discipline and flight safety rules. Some viewers believed Chahal was actually vaping, while others felt the moment was only a joke or edited for fun.

Neither Chahal nor Punjab Kings released an official statement. Reports also claimed the BCCI later asked Arshdeep Singh to stop posting team vlogs during IPL 2026. The controversy became bigger because Rajasthan Royals player Riyan Parag had already faced a similar vaping issue earlier in the season. The incident showed how even small actions by famous athletes can create large public discussions in the digital age.

The short clip quickly spread on social media and started a major debate among cricket fans. In India, e-cigarettes are banned under the law, and using or promoting them can lead to legal action.

Reports also said that vaping inside an airplane may break airline safety rules. Earlier this season, Riyan Parag was also involved in a similar vaping controversy during a live match. If the claims against Chahal are proven true, he could face action from the BCCI, airline authorities, or legal officials.

Viral Flight Video Sparks Big Trouble For PBKS

According to reports, the Punjab Kings team was travelling to Hyderabad on May 6 for their IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. During the flight, Arshdeep Singh uploaded a fun team vlog featuring many PBKS players. In the video, Yuzvendra Chahal was seen sitting near the window beside teammate Shashank Singh.

When the camera moved toward Chahal, viewers noticed him holding an object and releasing smoke-like vapor, which created a huge controversy online. Many people believed he was vaping inside the airplane. In India, e-cigarettes are banned under the PECA law. Reports say a first-time offence linked to transport or use can lead to one year in jail, a fine of Rs 1 lakh, or both if the claims are proven true.
