Zimbabwe Announces Squads For ODI And T20I Series Against Afghanistan, Ben Curran Selected
Zimbabwe National Cricket Team has announced their squads for the upcoming white-ball series against the Afghanistan cricket team. The white-ball series will kickstart with both the teams locking their horns with each other in the upcoming three-match T20I series, followed by three-match ODI series.
The first match of the series will be played on 11th December, followed by the second and third games to be played on 13th and 14th December, respectively. All three games will be played at the Harare Sports Club.
The two teams will compete in a three-match ODI series starting on December 17th. The second game will be on December 19th, and the final match will be on December 21st. All the matches will take place at the Harare Sports Club.
Ben Curran Has Been Rewarded For His Performances In The Domestic Circuit
Sikandar Raza will captain the T20I team, while Craig Ervine will lead the ODI team. Ben Curran, the brother of Tom and Sam Curran, has been selected for the ODI squad after his strong performances in domestic cricket.
Young left-arm pacer Newman Nyamhuri has also received his first call-up. He has been named in both teams after impressing as Zimbabwe’s top wicket-taker in the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa.
Ben Curran and Newman Nyamhuri have replaced Faraz Akram, Brandon Mavuta, and Clive Madande, who is recovering from a shoulder injury. The rest of Zimbabwe’s squad remains the same as in their series against Pakistan.
In the T20I squad, Nyamhuri and Takudzwanashe Kaitano replace Madande and Mavuta. After losing the previous series 2-1, Zimbabwe will hope these changes help them win and make a strong comeback, giving their fans something to celebrate.
