At the 2021 Indonesia Masters, the Women’s Doubles first round matches were held. One of the encounters was played between India’s Ashwini Ponnappa/N. Sikki Reddy and Denmark’s Alexandra Bøje/Mette Poulsen on Tuesday, 16th November 2021.

At the 2021 Indonesia Masters, both pairs are unseeded. In the First Round match, the Danish pair of Alexandra Bøje & Mette Poulsen won the 1st Game by a comfortable margin of 21-9.
However, in the 2nd Game, the duo cameback from being a set down. They fought back and dominated from early on in the game. The Indian duo won the game 21-11 and took the match into the decider.
Meanwhile, the 3rd Game was a close contest. It was a neck-to-neck encounter throughout the game. In the mid-game interval, the Danish were leading by just one point. Then after 15-15, Ashwini Ponnappa/N. Sikki Reddy managed to earn 3 consecutive points. However, Bøje/Poulsen, then, levelled it at 18-18. From there, the Indian pair Ashwini Ponnappa/N. Sikki Reddy won the game by 21-18 & clinched the match.
Thus, India’s Ashwini Ponnappa/N. Sikki Reddy have advanced into the next round. They will face the 3rd seeded duo Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai of Thailand.
