Esports and Gaming: ATF explains exit from Quest Esports
Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf has broken the silence on his sudden exit from Quest Esports. Here is a look at the statements issued by all the parties.
Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf, a former offlaner for Quest Esports, tweeted to explain why he left the team so abruptly. After the Bali Major 2023, Nigma Galaxy’s debt to Quest ran out, and as a result, rather than extending the loan agreement with Nigma, Quest made him an offer for a new contract. As ATF previously stated, there were clauses in his contract that he did not accept to, therefore Quest chose to cut ties with him rather than have him serve as a stand-in offlaner at the Riyadh Masters 2023 or extend the loan cycle.
unfortunately am not going to ryiadh masters , my loan ended after the major and Quest org dont want to extend the loan for there own reasons , they offered me a contract that i dont agree on and they told me to choose between signing the contract or they will get a standin and#1

ATF will miss Riyadh Masters 2023
ATF claimed that after Quest declined to extend the loan agreement with Nigma for “own reasons,” he was given the choice of signing the new contract Quest offered or being replaced at the Riyadh Masters by a stand-in.
The decision to not carry out the contractual conditions, he continued, was made with “all respect.” He was sad, too, because he had been a member of the team when it had qualified for the Riyadh Masters 2023 through the MENA qualifications.
The $15,000,000 USD prize pool for the Riyadh Masters this year, a record for a third-party organiser, makes it one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year.
Nigma’s statement
Nigma also followed up with a tweet when ATF confirmed that the company did help in any way possible. The team reportedly made an effort to look into different possibilities for ATF to continue teaming up with Quest at the upcoming competitions. It is not, however, in a position to force Quest “to provide players with desirable offers for them to commit long-term.”

Quest Esports’ statement
Following the comments made by ATF and Nigma Galaxy, Quest Esports added a statement to the discussion, outlining its position on the talks.
1/8: We'd like to explain recent events involving player Ammar Al Assaf (ATF), Nigma Galaxy, and us. Our mission has always been to build a team based on respect, hard work, and shared goals. #QuestForward

The Dota 2 community has been shocked by the split between ATF and Quest because the latter has performed admirably ever since ATF joined the lineup a few months ago. At the Bali Major 2023, the squad even came extremely near to receiving a straight invitation to The International 12.
It’s unclear whether Quest will be able to maintain the momentum it has built up and play well at the Riyadh Masters 2023 and the regional qualifiers for TI12 as they will need to replace ATF and find a new offlaner.
