The 2021 Indonesia Masters has begun, with first round matches being held – as one of the Women’s Singles encounters was played between India’s PV Sindhu and Thailand’s Supanida Katethong on Tuesday, 16th November 2021.

The ongoing Indonesia Masters is a Super 750 Level Tournament held at the Bali International Convention Centre located at Badung Regency, Bali, Indonesia. It is being contested from 16th to 21st November.

Meanwhile, the tournament got upgraded from a Super 500 into a Super 750 this year.

2021 Indonesia Masters First Round: PV Sindhu won in two straight games 21-15, 21-19 against Supanida Katethong, thus has advanced into the next round

Meanwhile, this Women’s Singles 1st Round match was played at Court 2. However, the Indian PV Sindhu is World No. 7 whereas her opponent Thailand’s Supanida Katethong is Ranked 33rd in the world.

In the Head-to-Head Record, this is their first meeting.

At the 2021 Indonesia Masters, Sindhu is the 3rd seed while Katethong is unseeded. In the First Round encounter, PV Sindhu won the 1st Game by 21-15. From 3-1 in the start, Sindhu was leading through the game. At the mid-game interval, she had a six-point lead of 11-5. Eventually, Sindhu won as she had control of the game.

In the 2nd Game, PV Sindhu was leading 11-8. After the mid-game interval, it was a close contest unlike earlier. Thus, towards the end, it was 19-18 before PV Sindhu won the match by 21-19.

As a result, PV Sindhu won against Supanida Katethong in two straight games 21-15, 21-19 in about forty-three minutes. Thus, India’s star player PV Sindhu has advanced into the next round. Where she will face Spain’s Clara Azurmendi.
