The 2025 Americas MotoGP is one of the most prominent motorcycle racing events in America, which is held at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. The tournament concluded on 30 March with a chaotic win claimed by Francesco Bagnaia, who did not hesitate in ending the winning streak of Marc Marquez, who had won every sprint and grand prix up until today.
The race was already delayed due to rain, which led most riders to fit wet tires, while a few opted for slicks. Just before the race start, pole position Marc Marquez made a last-minute change to switch to his slick bike, which triggered a scramble among other riders who also followed the same, causing chaos on the grid.
This chaotic situation led to a delayed start as officials decided to allow all riders to return to their original positions after the confusion. Riders who had chosen slicks expressed frustration over the delay, arguing that their decision was undermined by those who changed bikes.

Following the delay, the race was shortened to 19 laps, where Marquez took the lead initially and built a significant gap, which made him the top contender for the title once again. However, as destiny would have it, Marquez got involved in a crash at Turn 4, which ended his winning streak of the season as Bagnaia took the lead.
Francesco Bagnaia maintained his pace and extended his advantage to Alex Marquez, who finished second. Bagnaia crosses the finish line with a time of 39 minutes and 0.191 seconds, marking his first win of the season and his 30th career title overall in MotoGP. The 2025 Americas MotoGP wasn’t just exciting due to the thrilling outcome but also due to the confusion on the grid and the championship standings, which shocked the fans.
Bagnaia shared his excitement as he ended the long-standing winning streak of Marc Marquez and said, “It’s an incredible feeling. I’m very happy. It’s the first time I’ve won here at COTA. I know that the win came because of a crash for Marc. He was faster than us, faster than everybody else today. So I was just trying to match his pace as best as possible”

He also acknowledged the fact that luck played a huge role in his victory as Marc met with a crash. He said, “As soon as I saw him crash, I just kept pushing to open the gap to Alex. He was still very close, and it wasn’t easy.”
“I’m super happy, I’m already without (my) voice, I screamed out loud,” he added
