This season, NFL teams are reimagining the looks of bygone eras and taking advantage of a year-old league regulation that permits teams to use different helmets in one season for the first time in a decade. New uniforms, helmet designs, and throwback jerseys are on their way to the field. Here is a look at eight NFL teams which will have new uniforms this new season.
Arizona Cardinals
For the 2023 season, only the Cardinals have debuted their new, streamlined home, road and alternative uniforms, which come in red, black, and white. The Cardinals’ new uniforms are the team’s first since 2005 and fans have long yearned for them. According to team owner Michael Bidwill, they were striving for a “really clean look.”
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts unquestionably hold the record for this season’s most contentious new outfit. While SB Nation dubbed the “Indiana Nights” alternate outfits “so bad they defy words,” several fans defended the distinctive design on X, formerly known as Twitter. In Week 7, the club will don black helmets for the first time in franchise history along with a heather-patterned variation on their standard shirt and pants, a first for the NFL.

Tennessee Titans
The Houston Oilers will be honoured with a throwback jersey worn by the Tennessee Titans as a tribute to the team’s lengthy history. Before moving to Nashville, the Oilers played in Texas for 26 years. For the next two years, they were the Tennessee Oilers, and in 1999, the Titans made their debut. “Luv Ya Blue” will be printed on the back neckline of the “Columbia blue” jerseys, which have red and white numbers, names, and sleeves.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
For the first time since donning the recognisable style in the 1970s, the Bucs’ orange, red, and white uniforms are back. The white pants, orange socks and white helmets with the ‘Bucco Bruce’ insignia will be worn with the orange shirts. In Week 6’s game against the Lions, the team will don a fresh rendition of the Creamsicle outfits.
New York Jets
The “Legacy White” throwback uniforms the Jets will wear twice this season, including Week 1 against Buffalo, are inspired by the “New York Sack Exchange” era when defensive linemen Mark Gastineau, Joe Klecko, Marty Lyons, and Abdul Salaam played together in the 1980s. Sack Exchange’s emblem can be seen on the helmet of the jerseys, and when the team wears them, MetLife Stadium will also display the logo on the 50-yard line.
Seattle Seahawks
In week 8’s game against the Browns, the Seahawks will dress in a throwback to the 1990s with royal blue jerseys, silver striped pants and silver helmets. The Seattle Seahawks’ “iconic” era is reflected in the uniforms, which established “the team’s presence in the city.”
Minnesota Vikings
The throwback jerseys for this year’s ‘Vikings Classic’ will make their debut versus Tampa Bay the following month and are influenced by the 1960s and 1970s. Although the uniforms don’t drastically differ from the team’s standard attire, they do include deeper purple, throwback sleeve stripes, and larger, gold-trimmed numerals.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles will wear vintage Kelly green uniforms in Weeks 7 and 12 as a salute to the 1990s. The new appearance features a colour produced specifically for the team by Nike in a fabric made out of recycled materials, according to Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie. Discussions about bringing back a bright-green alternative uniform stretch back to 2012, he said.
