The Kho-Kho Federation of India has exciting news for sports enthusiasts as it announces the screening of a biopic on Kho-Kho sensation Nasreen Shaikh during the opening ceremony of the ‘Ultimate Kho-Kho’ tournament in Cuttack, Odisha, starting December 24.
Nasreen Shaikh, recently honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award for her excellence in Kho-Kho, serves as an inspiration for aspiring athletes, especially those seeking success in this sport.
The biopic, crafted to celebrate Nasreen’s remarkable achievements and to amplify the ongoing mission of the Kho-Kho Federation of India, is set to spotlight her inspiring journey.
In a world filled with seemingly insurmountable challenges, Nasreen Shaikh’s unbroken spirit and determination have become a symbol of pride. Raised amidst adversity in the streets of Delhi, Nasreen Shaikh’s unwavering resolve led her to the coveted Arjuna Award, a testament to her relentless hard work and capabilities. Nasreen’s journey, originating in the streets where her father sold utensils to make ends meet, showcases her unwavering dedication. The announcement of the forthcoming biopic, focusing on Nasreen’s extraordinary life and accomplishments, will be a highlight of the inauguration ceremony for ‘Ultimate Kho Kho,’ the second edition of the Kho-Kho League, taking place in Odisha. The league features six formidable teams: Odisha Juggernaut, Chennai Quick Guns, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Players, Rajasthan Warriors, and Telugu Warriors.
Sudhanshu Mittal, President of the Kho-Kho Federation of India, proudly shared Nasreen Shaikh’s well-deserved recognition with the Arjuna Award via a tweet on Wednesday.
“Kho-Kho Federation of India aims to discover and nurture many such talents from underprivileged families across the nation, guiding them towards a stage in life where they can become pillars of support not only for their families but also for society at large,” he said.
The Kho-Kho Federation of India remains dedicated to promoting Kho-Kho at the international level, according to Mittal.
“Like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho is a game that relies solely on human spirit and passion. It requires no special equipment and has gained international acclaim through our dedicated promotion efforts,” he added.
