Juan Ferrando, the head coach of Mohun Bagan Super Giant, is rallying his players to concentrate on their performances ahead of their pivotal home match against Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League (ISL). The team is determined to bounce back after facing two consecutive defeats, and Ferrando emphasizes the importance of self-focus in their preparation.
In a pre-match press conference, Ferrando underlined the significance of prioritizing the team’s internal dynamics amidst Kerala Blasters FC’s recent successes. He acknowledged the opponent’s positive emotional state but stressed, “What is most important is my team, and for me, it’s time to prepare for the next match and to be ready for the next match.”
Acknowledging the challenge of shifting the team’s mentality after a series of unfavorable results, Ferrando expressed unwavering trust in his players and the club. Despite facing injuries, including setbacks to key players like Glan Martins, Sahal Abdul Samad, Brendan Hamill, Anirudh Thapa, and Ashique Kuruniyan, the coach remains optimistic about overcoming these hurdles.

Ferrando shared insights into the team’s injury woes, stating, “It’s not a methodological problem. It’s a problem for our team. It’s a problem for the national team; it’s a problem for the Asian Cup. But this is not in my hands. The medical staff is working hard with Sahal Abdul Samad, Glan Martins, Ashique Kuruniyan, and Anwar Ali at this moment. But we need time.”
Despite the challenges, defenders Hector Yuste and Asish Rai’s return from suspension provides a much-needed boost for Mohun Bagan. Ferrando confirmed their availability for selection against Kerala Blasters FC and emphasized the team’s readiness for the upcoming match.
“We continue with the same situation. Ashish and Yuste can play now. The team is the most important thing for me. We are ready for the next match. We are thinking of the best line-up, who’s fit, and about getting the three points,” Ferrando affirmed.
