Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bowl first, the knight riders were off to a good start as bowlers managed to take essential opener wickets to crumble Punjab’s batting order.

Batsman Deepak Hooda hasn’t been impressive throughout the season as he has had only one good game against Rajasthan, today there was a lot on his shoulders to contribute as the team’s opening order was destroyed but Deepak Hooda failed yet again as he departed to the pavilion for just 1 run.

Deepak Hooda came to the crease after Chris Gayle departed for a duck, opener K L Rahul was also sent back to the pavilion earlier in the match, with the opening order devastated, Deepak Hooda was supposed to stand strong and work with the other batsmen to bring out a formidable total for the team in order to keep themselves in the match.

Deepak Hooda was sent to the pavilion by Prasidh Krishna, who bowled a full ball around off forcing Hooda to tip the ball on top of his bat sending the ball straight to skipper Morgan who made no mistake in taking the catch.

With the season advancing faster than ever, Deepak Hooda needs to come alive for the team as they desperately are in need of a promising middle order that can stack a good score for the team.
